Looking along the beam, and looking at the beam are very different experiences.

Welcome to Serendipitous Steps, a blog where I share my attempt to live with more of a curiosity about what life looks like “along the beam.”
To me, living life along the beam means recognizing I am gifted with seemingly “everyday” occurrences. When I slow down and pay attention, these experiences are full of hidden meaning that might not be readily apparent on the surface.
Embracing serendipity means taking a step toward living in a different way.
Watching a young child learn to walk, you witness the uncertainty, the way the body wobbles with the possibility of a potential fall. There is part of us that may even want to stay stuck—at least it’s familiar.
In essence, taking a step can be a huge risk; it requires courage.
We have to rely on muscles we aren’t used to using yet. It feels awkward and uncomfortable.
Yet I’d like to think taking better care of ourselves mentally helps us to keep moving forward even when we don’t feel like we’re moving at all, moving backwards or not moving fast enough.
